Are you interested in combining an internship with thesis writing at a major consulting company within the Netherlands? Royal Haskoning is looking for interns for a maximum of 3 months. The preferable start date is the end of January - beginning of February 2024. 

 

During the internship, you will get support and guidance from one of the consultants at Royal Haskoning. The monthly compensation will be around 400 Euros.
 

Royal Haskoning is specifically looking for interns who are willing to write their thesis about following topics:

• Development of a revenue model and business case for an offshore wind port: we would like to undertake a research project on the earning models that could be considered for public and for private ports related to offshore wind activities in different stages of the wind farm development. How could the business cases be structured, what are the variables, how is the market moving ahead in certain geographies and how to structure the role of ports?

• Impact of changing fuel mix (hfo/lng/amonia) on ETS in liner shipping in Europe: we would like to undertake a research project on the impact of the anticipated change in fuel mix and as a result on the impact of ETS on liner shipping patterns in and to/from Europe. This could also assess the role of British ports in future.

• Projecting different scenarios in different regions and/or shipping market segments with regards to the future fuel mix of maritime shipping: we would like to undertake a research project on the likely fuel mix (and bunker mix) scenarios of the future, to deepen our understanding of how future vessel patterns will look like.

• How shipping lines will adjust their service network to mitigate the increasing impact of climate change on Panama Canal shipping routes. We would like to undertake a research project in the field of the impact of climate change on the Panama Canal shipping route.

• Footing the bill for maritime decarbonization: allocation mechanisms for costs, investments and returns of maritime decarbonization: we would like to assess the impact of the energy transition on the financial performance of port authorities and their role in investments/ability to invest in the decarbonization. What role do they wish to take, what are pros and cons and risk profiles, and allocation mechanisms.
