Master Mentor – Onboarding programme

Are you a master student at ESE (or at least a student who has been studying at ESE for a few years and knows all the ins and outs) and are you available in the last week of August (22-26 August) and would you like to earn some money? Then perhaps you can become a mentor in the new Onboarding programme for master students.

As a mentor in this new Onboarding programme, you inform master students in your tutorial group (max. 40 students) about university life. You help students have a smooth start to their study at ESE. The onboarding consists of one 2 hour tutorial and several individual meetings with your students per group.

Number of hours and salary information

The total number of hours you will be paid depends on the number of tutorial groups you teach. you can find more information and the salary conditions via this link. Your salary will be exclusive of holiday pay (8%) and year-end bonus (8.3%).

 

For the Onboarding programme the contract period will be from 15-08-2022 till 31-10-2022 and the total number of contract hours will depend on the number of tutorial groups you teach. We will ask you to teach a couple of tutorials in the last week of August (most hours will be made in this period) and in the weeks after this, students can contact you with questions and to request an individual meeting.

We are looking for two or three mentors for Economics (approx. 22 hrs), one for econometrics (approx. 22 hrs), one for Accounting, Auditing and Control (approx. 11 hrs)

 

Selection criteria

General requirements:

- You are registered as a student at Erasmus School of Economics.

- You do not work for Capita Selecta, Study Boost, Grade Boost, etc.

- You have a Dutch address and BSN-number.

 

Competences:

- You have excellent communication skills (written and spoken).

- You are passionate about guiding and motivating students.

- You like to speak in front of a group of students.

- You are eager to continuously improve your teaching skills.

 

Procedure

These could include for example weekend jobs, committees, internships, responsibilities of care, international experiences and/or volunteer work, as well as your previous education) and a short motivation to onboarding-master@ese.eur.nl as soon as possible but before 20 July 2022. After we receive your cv we can contact you to schedule an online interview. During this interview, you can expect questions related to your motivation, (teaching) experience, sense of responsibility, and leadership skills.
